Avalanche Summary

Recent weather developed a highly variable and firm snow surface, making triggering an avalanche difficult. You are most likely to trigger an avalanche where winds are drifting recent snow into small cohesive slabs on lee slopes. You will find drifted snow below ridgelines and on the sides of gullies.

A potent winter storm will bring light snow and wind to the area on Thursday night into Friday. Avalanche danger will rise as new snow accumulates.
