Avalanche Summary

Friday's gusty storm built soft slabs that you can easily trigger on many slopes steeper than about 30 degrees. These will break deeper on wind-drifted slopes, especially on near and above treeline terrain that faces north through east. Most avalanches will break one to two feet deep, but on northerly terrain, one could break deeper into buried weak layers. Look for safer options in less-steep wind-sheltered or wind-scoured terrain.
