Avalanche Summary

You can trigger an avalanche where strong winds and new snowfall created thin slabs of cohesive snow over a foot thick. Avoid traveling on slopes steeper than about 35 degrees on the lee side of ridgelines and in areas where you find more than a foot of new snow. Safer travel options exist but sticking to wind-sheltered terrain and traveling in the morning before the storm totals exceed 12 inches.
