Avalanche Summary

You can easily trigger a large slab avalanche where recent storm snow built dense drifts over now-buried weak layers. Your best bet is to avoid steep slopes that face west through north to east, where the old weak snow lurks below. The storm snow rests on stronger crusts and bare ground on southerly-facing terrain where you will find safer travel options.
