Highlights
The general avalanche hazard is HIGH today. New snow and strong winds have created slabs to two feet in depth on lee slopes. This new snowfall started with cold temperatures which prevented bonding with slick underlying crusts. New snow on sun crusts on southerly aspects will be very sensitive to triggers by backcountry users. Slides have the potential to pull out deeper rotten layers of snow. Avoid ravines, roadcuts and terrain traps.
