Avalanche Summary

You can trigger an avalanche where you find more than about 10 inches of new or drifted snow. High-elevation slopes that held snow before this storm are the most likely to be loaded and will be the most dangerous. You can reduce your chances of triggering an avalanche by avoiding rounded, firm pillows of snow near ridgelines and along gully walls.
