Avalanche Summary

Continued heavy snow and strong winds are creating dangerous avalanche conditions. You can trigger avalanches on northerly and east-facing slopes near and above treeline where thick slabs rest over old, weak snow. Avalanches can break deeper and wider than you expect, making them difficult to escape. You can trigger avalanches from the bottom of slopes or a great distance away. Shooting cracks and audible collapses are signs of dangerous snow conditions. Travel in avalanche terrain Monday is not recommended.
