Highlights
The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE above 8,000 feet. Surface slabs up to 18 inches deep lie upon a hard crust on most aspects and a weak layer of buried surface hoar on shaded aspects. These surface slabs could be triggered by travellers in steep wind loaded avalanche starting zones. Avoid known avalanche paths and terrain traps. Below 8,000 feet snow depths are shallow and avalanches are unlikely.
