Avalanche Summary

Dangerous avalanche conditions exist, and they will worsen throughout the day as a winter storm impacts the area. You can trigger an avalanche on most slopes, they can easily grow large enough to bury you, and in many areas you can trigger them from a distance. The most dangerous slopes face north through east near and above treeline. Conservative decision-making is essential to travel safely in the backcountry. If you want to keep things safe and simple, avoid traveling on or underneath slopes steeper than about 30 degrees above about 10,500 feet on Thursday.
