Avalanche Summary

The few slopes where you might be able to trigger a small avalanche are on north and northeast-facing slopes above 12,000 feet, where you find firm, wind-drifted snow. Even if you trigger an avalanche, it will be very small and relatively harmless. Be careful if you find one of these wind drifts above a cliff or other terrain trap, where even a small avalanche could knock you over and drag you into dangerous terrain underneath you.

Join the Friends of CAIC on Saturday, Nov. 22 at the Breckenridge Riverwalk Center for the 18th annual CAIC Benefit Bash - the season's biggest fundraiser for avalanche safety. Tickets are available here <https://breckcreate.org/events/caic-benefit-bash>
