Forecast Snow Stability: The old snowpack will start to re-freeze overnight giving good stability in most areas. Light snowfall overnight will form isolated areas of windslab in sheltered gully exits and on slopes with a North to South-Easterly aspect above 1000m, these areas should generally be shallow and avoidable however where windslab accumulations attain any depth stability will be poor. The avalanche hazard will be Low

Forecast Weather Influences: Cooler conditions will return overnight with the freezing level around 1000 metres. Precipitation will affect the higher slopes with some snow but with rain and sleet below 900 metres. Winds will be generally West-South-Westerly strong to gale initially decreasing fresh to strong through the course of the day. Observed Weather Influences: Mild conditions have affected the area with rain, heavy at times and occasional sleet at the highest levels. Winds have been strong, generally from a Southerly direction. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is generally stable in most areas. Surface wet snow instabilities exist on the very steepest slopes and in sheltered gullies and any remaining cornices are suspect. The avalanche hazard is Low.
