Forecast Snow Stability: Localised areas of fresh unstable windslab will develop mainly on East and South-East aspects above 900m. Some of this will lie on bare ground and the greatest hazard will be where it overlies the existing snowpack and gains depth. Fragile cornices will develop above these aspects. The older snowpack will become firm in the colder temperatures and will be stable. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: Rain will gradually turn to snow overnight with showers during the day falling as snow above around 500 metres. Winds will veer and ease during the night to become moderate or fresh West-North-Westerly. The freezing level will fall from above the summits to around 600 metres during the day. Observed Weather Influences: There was a fresh South-West wind and occasional rain today. The freezing level was above the summits. ObservedSnowStability: The thawing snowpack is well bonded and stable. Greatest snow cover is to be found on North to East aspects above 900 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
