Weakly bonded old snow requires caution. Wet avalanches during the day.

Only a little snow is lying. Individual avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular in extremely steep terrain. Even a small avalanche can sweep people along and give rise to falls.

Snowpack Except in the extreme west of Lower Valais and in northern Lower Valais, the snowpack contains faceted and loosely bonded layers over a wide area. On the northern flank of the Alps, these layers are often to be found near the surface of the snowpack; in southern Valais and in Grisons, the entire snowpack is faceted and loosely bonded in some cases. In particular in northern Grisons, surface hoar that has been covered with snow also exists in some locations. Although the number of avalanche prone locations has decreased in recent days, in the east in particular dry slab avalanches can still be released even by small additional loads in some places. As a consequence of warming and solar radiation, wet snow avalanches are to be expected on very steep south facing slopes as the day progresses. The danger of dry avalanches will continue to decrease, but only slowly because of the weak layers in the old snowpack. On very steep sunny slopes, gliding avalanches and isolated wet snow avalanches are to be expected. Friday The northern flank of the Alps will be partly cloudy, and a few snowflakes may fall above approximately 1800 m. Further south it will be mostly sunny during the day after a clear night. The danger of dry avalanches will not change significantly. In particular on very steep sunny slopes, gliding avalanches are to be expected.
