Forecast Snow Stability: During the day fresh unstable windslab will be deposited in wind sheltered areas, mainly on North to East aspects above 900 metres. Weaknesses will persist in the recently deposited windslab that lies mainly on North to East aspects above 900 metres. Fragile cornices will be present above these aspects. Elsewhere the old snowpack will be generally stable. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Winds will be light mainly North-Westerly during the first part of the night, then backing South-Westerly and increasing light to moderate. The freezing level will be around 500 metres. It is expected to be dry. Observed Weather Influences: After overnight snowfall at all levels there were some light snow showers during the morning and a dry afternoon. Winds were light to moderate generally Easterly becoming light and variable from late morning. The freezing level rose to around 500 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Weaknesses persist in the recently deposited windslab lying mainly on North to East aspects above 900 metres. Weak cornices are present above these aspects. Fresh windslab has been deposited in wind sheltered areas, mainly on South-West through West to North aspects above 900 metres. Accumulations having gained depth are not extensive. The old snowpack is refrozen and generally stable. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
