As a consequence of the strong wind, fresh snow drift accumulations formed during the last few days. They can in some places be released, even by a single winter sport participant, caution is to be exercised in particular on very steep slopes at intermediate and high altitudes in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain. Weak layers in the old snowpack necessitate caution. The avalanches can be triggered in the old snow and reach quite a large size. Night: The surface of the snowpack will freeze to form a strong crust. The spring-like weather conditions from the late morning will give rise to increasing moistening of the snowpack in particular on steep sunny slopes. As a consequence of warming, the likelihood of avalanches being released will increase. With the freezing level at 3000 metres, combined with the foehn wind and solar radiation, some wet and moist avalanches are still possible at medium mountain altitudes on slopes that have not yet been completely cleared in recent days. Careful route selection is advisable. Backcountry tours should be concluded early.
Some snow fell in the last ten days. In the last few days the wind was moderate to strong. Adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. The snowpack is unfavourably layered. Faceted weak layers exist in the old snowpack in particular on west, north and east facing slopes. Some medium-sized slab avalanches have been released by people in the last few days.
The weather will be warm. The weather conditions will foster a stabilisation of the snow drift accumulations. The danger of moist and wet avalanches will increase.
