Snowpack Structure
Forecast Weather Influences: Light showers will initially fall as snow above around 600 metres and clear during the afternoon as the freezing level rises to around the highest summits. Gale force Easterly winds will gradually ease through the day. Observed Weather Influences: A dry day with gale force Easterly winds across the summits. The freezing level was around 500 metres. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is well bonded firm and stable. Good cover on most aspects above 700 metres, more patchy at lower elevations. The avalanche hazard is Low.
