Forecast Snow Stability: The snow patches will continue to slowly thaw but will remain well bonded and stable. Largest areas will be encountered around corrie rims and in gully lines on North to East aspects above 950 metres. The avalanche hazard will be Low.
Snowpack Structure
Forecast Weather Influences: Wet and mild with the freezing level above all summits throughout the period. Gale force South-South-Westerly winds. Observed Weather Influences: A dry but cloudy morning, followed by rain arriving during the afternoon. Winds increased to become gale force, South-South-Westerly. The 900 metre freezing level rose to around 1200 metres by early afternoon. ObservedSnowStability: Terrain is mostly snow free with small avoidable patches above 800 metres. Larger patches are present around corrie rims and in gully lines on North to East aspects above 950 metres. All snow is well bonded. The avalanche hazard is Low.
