Weakly bonded old snow requires caution.
Winter sport participants can release avalanches only in isolated cases. They can be triggered in the old snowpack and reach medium size. Caution is to be exercised in particular on very steep west, north and east facing slopes above approximately 2200 m, and on south facing slopes at elevated altitudes. Especially transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack are unfavourable. Avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain.
The gusty wind has transported the fresh and old snow significantly. Hard wind slabs formed. These are lying on top of a weakly bonded old snowpack in particular on west, north and east facing slopes above approximately 2200 m.
Weakly bonded old snow requires caution. The high temperatures will give rise to slight moistening of the snowpack.
