Forecast Snow Stability: Moderately bonded windslab will persist in steeper wind sheltered locations on East through South to West aspects above 900 metres. In addition, new accumulations will start to develop on North and North-West aspects. Stability around gully tops and corrie rims will remain poor. Deep drifts will be encountered in lee locations at lower elevations. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.
Forecast Weather Influences: A cold bright start to the day becoming cloudier but remaining dry. Winds, generally moderate, North-West veering North by dawn, then South-South-East by afternoon. Observed Weather Influences: A dry cold day with the midday freezing temperature around -4 degrees. Winds were moderate from the North-West. ObservedSnowStability: Unstable windslab continues to develop in wind sheltered locations on East through South to West aspects above 900 metres. Gully tops and steep corrie rims are particularly affected. Exposed terrain is firm and scoured with deep drifts at lower levels. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
