Avalanche Activity

The danger of moist and wet avalanches will increase during the day. In addition the wind slabs should be taken into account.

As a consequence of warming during the day more moist loose snow avalanches are to be expected. Small and medium-sized moist and wet avalanches are to be expected as a consequence of the rain. On very steep grassy slopes more gliding avalanches are possible. Fresh and somewhat older wind slabs can be released, especially by large additional loads, above approximately 2200 m. The prevalence of the avalanche prone locations will increase with altitude. On steep grassy slopes more medium-sized gliding avalanches are possible.

Snowpack Structure

Over a wide area 2 to 25 cm of snow will fall above approximately 1800 m. The rain will give rise as the day progresses to a loss of strength within the snowpack. The wind was moderate to strong. In the vicinity of peaks wind slabs formed.

Tendency

As the day progresses as a consequence of new snow and strong wind there will be an increase in the avalanche danger within the current danger level.
