A mostly overcast night: The danger of moist and wet avalanches will already increase in the early morning. In particular intermediate altitudes: As a consequence of warming during the day there will be an additional increase in the danger of moist and wet avalanches. Small and medium-sized moist and wet avalanches are possible below approximately 2800 m, in particular at the base of rock walls. The visible wind slabs can be released by a single winter sport participant in some cases, especially at their margins. These avalanche prone locations are rather rare and are easy to recognise. Such avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas.

Snow depths vary greatly at intermediate and high altitudes, depending on the infuence of the wind. The new snow of the weekend has settled to a large extent in particular on steep sunny slopes. The new snow and wind slabs of the weekend have bonded quite well with the old snowpack in particular on sunny slopes. Sunshine and high temperatures will give rise as the day progresses to rapid moistening of the snowpack over a wide area in particular on very steep sunny slopes below approximately 3000 m.

As a consequence of falling temperatures, the natural avalanche activity will rapidly decrease. The weather report and anticipated change in the avalanche danger are uncertain.
