Avalanche Activity

Wet snow represents the main danger. Wind slabs require caution.

In some localities up to 5 cm of snow has fallen above approximately 2900 m. Medium-sized to large natural avalanches are further possible.

Snowpack Structure

As a consequence of sharply rising temperatures a sometimes precarious avalanche situation developed. These conditions fostered a weakening of the snowpack. The sleet will give rise as the day progresses to moistening of the snowpack in all aspects above approximately 2200 m.
