Wind slabs will continue to develop on Tuesday. Use caution when entering lee and cross-loaded terrain.
No new avalanches have been observed today.
Wind slabs are present in the Alpine and you could see some wind transport on Tuesday with the strong NW winds. Be especially aware on lee features and cross loaded slopes. The height of snow varies from 40cm of facets to 70cm of more consolidated snow. Early season hazards are all over the place at all elevations. The October crust is close to the ground and has started to break down with facets just above it. This is our layer of concern and would provide a good sliding layer if triggered at the right spot.
Tuesday will start off cool at -14c and warm up to -3c. Skies will be mostly sunny with some cloud. The winds are forecast to be strong from the NW.
More details can be found in the Mountain Weather Forecast.
