Avalanche Activity

Wet snow requires caution.

In the late morning the likelihood of wet avalanches being released will increase. Wet avalanches can in isolated cases be released by a single winter sport participant. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular on very steep northwest, north and northeast facing slopes at elevated altitudes. Avalanches can in very isolated cases release the saturated snowpack and reach medium size.

Snowpack Structure

The snowpack is wet all the way through and its surface has a melt-freeze crust. The surface of the snowpack will soften quickly. In particular on steep sunny slopes as well as below approximately 1800 m only a little snow is now lying.

Tendency

Some rain will fall in some localities. The danger of wet avalanches will persist.
