Forecast Weather Influences: The continuing Easterly airstream will bring dry, cloudy conditions. The freezing level will be around 500 metres, with storm force Easterly winds overnight dropping slightly during the day. Observed Weather Influences: A dry day with gale force Easterly winds. The freezing level fell to around 700 metres. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is well bonded firm and stable. Reasonable cover of firm snow on most aspects above 700 metres with a few patches at lower elevations. The avalanche hazard is Low.
