Avalanche Activity

Slab avalanches are the main danger. Small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized moist and wet avalanches are possible below approximately 2000 m.

Areas where the snow cover is rather shallow where weaknesses exist in the old snowpack are especially unfavourable. Avalanches can be released, in particular by large loads. In gullies and bowls and in extremely steep terrain individual small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized moist slab avalanches are possible.

Snowpack Structure

In the last few days mostly small wind slabs formed in particular in gullies and bowls. In some places new snow is lying on the soft surface of an old snowpack.
