The fresh snow as well as the mostly small wind slabs are lying on the quite favourable surface of an old snowpack in all aspects above approximately 2000 m. The new snow can be released by a single winter sport participant in isolated cases. The fresh wind slabs are mostly shallow and can be released easily. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular in steep terrain at high altitude. These have formed adjacent to ridgelines on southeast, south and southwest facing slopes. Backcountry touring and other off-piste activities call for a certain restraint.

Over a wide area 5 to 10 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, fell during the night above approximately 2000 m. 5 to 10 cm of snow will fall until the evening above approximately 1500 m. The northwesterly wind will transport the new snow. The wind will be light to moderate adjacent to ridgelines. The fresh snow as well as the wind slabs are lying on the favourable surface of an old snowpack.
