Avalanche Activity

On very steep slopes small and medium-sized moist loose snow avalanches are possible as a consequence of warming during the day.

The early morning will see quite favourable conditions generally. Increase in danger of moist and wet avalanches in the late morning. Some small to medium-sized natural avalanches are possible. This applies on very steep northwest, north and east facing slopes between approximately 1400 and 2200 m, as well as on very steep sunny slopes between approximately 1900 and 2700 m. Wet avalanches can be released by people and reach medium size. Backcountry tours should be started early and concluded timely.

Snowpack Structure

The snowpack will be well bonded in the early morning. The surface of the snowpack will soften earlier than the day before. Sunshine and high temperatures will give rise from early morning to rapid moistening of the snowpack.
