Avalanche Activity

The mostly shallow wind slabs of the last few days can be released by a single winter sport participant in isolated cases in particular on wind-protected shady slopes above approximately 3000 m.

Outgoing longwave radiation during the night will be good. As a consequence of falling temperatures the snowpack will consolidate.

Snowpack Structure

Towards its surface, the snowpack is moist and its surface has a strong crust. As the day progresses as a consequence of warming during the day there will be an increase in the danger of moist and wet avalanches. In particular adjacent to ridgelines as well as at high altitudes and in high Alpine regions sometimes avalanche prone wind slabs formed.
