Avalanche Summary

You can trigger an avalanche where you find recently wind-drifted snow near and above treeline. Slopes that face northwest to north through east are the most dangerous. Watch for slopes that have a lens-shaped or pillowy appearance. These conditions can be found just below treelines and in cross-loaded gullies. If you experiencing cracking or collapsing in the drifted snow, retreat to lower-angled and wind-sheltered slopes.

New snow and strong westerly wind could increase avalanche danger at upper elevations on Tuesday.
