Avalanche Summary

If you are traveling on slopes with more than a foot of new snow on top of loose, grainy old snow, you could potentially trigger a small but dangerous avalanche. Shooting cracks and collapsing snowpack around your feet are additional signs of dangerous conditions. Sticking to low-angle slopes is a much safer option.
