Avalanche Summary
Slopes that hold enough snow to produce avalanches are limited. If you were to trigger an avalanche, it would be small and on a high-elevation, northerly-facing gully or slope just below a ridge line. Look for and avoid areas of continuous snow cover that appear smooth or rounded. Even small avalanches in early season conditions can be dangerous with many shallowly buried obstacles.
