Pockets of slab at upper elevations lie on weak layers of faceted snow and slick crusts.Observed avalanches have been up to three feet deep and were formed by strong varying winds over the last week. These slabs could be triggered today by snowmobiles, skiers or snowboarders. Avalanches at low elevations are unlikely today.
