Highlights

At the mid and upper elevations dangerous soft slabs up to 30 inches in depth lie upon a persistent, very weak layer over slick October surfaces. A thick sun crust has developed which should help to stabilize southern exposures. Shaded and more northerly exposures will continue to be unstable. During the past few days skiers have triggered slabs in the Grand Teton Park area. Similar events are likely to be human triggered today. Avalanches are unlikely at the lower elevations.
