Avalanche Summary

You are most likely to trigger an avalanche on slopes with wind-drifted snow. Use caution around rounded pillows of snow that may crack when weighted. East-, southeast-,and south-facing slopes will have the most drifting, but be careful to look for cross-loading in gullies and around terrain breaks on other aspects. You can find safer riding on slopes that are sheltered from the wind's effects.
