Snowpack Summary
Colder temperatures remained all day on Thursday and as a result, the snowpack that was moist was frozen in throughout the day. Expect a frozen surface on all aspects and elevations except true north polar aspects above 2300m. Here you will likely find dry snow and the occasional windslab in open areas.Â
Terrain and Travel
- Avoid sun exposed slopes when the solar radiation is strong, especially if snow is moist or wet
- Cornices become weak with daytime heating or solar exposure.
- Small avalanches can have serious consequences in extreme terrain. Carefully evaluate your line for wind slab hazard before you commit to it.
Problems
