Snowpack Summary

At lower elevations, 10 to 15 cm of wet, heavy snow covers the melt-freeze crust or December 23 storm snow. In the alpine, bare areas down to rock alternate with accumulations in ravines, depressions and other leeward locations. With the cooling of temperatures during the day on Sunday, a new generalized melt freeze crust will form on the surface of the snowpack.

The average height of the snowpack is still very thin, about 20-25 cm in the valley to 60-70 cm mid-mountain, and extremely variable from place to place.
