Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will thaw in all locations in the mild, wet conditions, and this will accelerate during the afternoon\'s heavier rain. Generally minor surface wet snow instabilities may develop on steep slopes, especially during the afternoon. Otherwise the snowpack will be generally stable. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: The freezing level will be above the summits throughout the forecast period. Light rain at all levels will become heavy during the afternoon. Winds will be mainly West-South-Westerly, very strong until late morning then strengthening further. Observed Weather Influences: It was a dry day, with moderate to strong, generally Westerly winds. The freezing level was around 650 metres, rising slowly during the afternoon. ObservedSnowStability: Shallow windslab has been deposited in wind sheltered areas, mainly on North-East to South-East aspects above 800 metres. These areas are not extensive. The older snowpack continues to stabilise in all locations and is generally stable. The avalanche hazard is Low.
