Moderate to strong winds blowing from westerly directions over the past 24 hours have created pockets of wind-drifted snow at the upper elevations. Wind drifts may be more stubborn today and may allow you to get well onto a slope before fracturing. Cornices may also be sensitive.
Watch for cracking in wind-drifted snow as an indication of sensitivity, as shown below in Derek DeBruin's observation on Tuesday from the North Ogden Divide.
