- Above 1,800 m
The fresh snow and the wind slabs represent the main danger.
The fresh snow and the wind slabs represent the main danger.
In particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls and on wind-loaded slopes large and, in isolated cases, very large avalanches are possible as a consequence of the precipitation. In particular on steep sunny slopes and at the base of rock walls loose snow avalanches are possible. Avalanches can be released, even by a single winter sport participant. Backcountry touring calls for experience in the assessment of avalanche danger and careful route selection. In many places there is a danger of falling on the hard snow surface.
The fresh snow as well as the wind slabs are bonding poorly with the old snowpack in many places.
The weather will be cold over a wide area. Light precipitation.
