Avalanche danger is low. At higher altitudes, in isolated cases small-scale snowdrift accumulations can still constitute a problem. On steep shady slopes adjacent to ridgelinesslab avalanches can now mostly only be triggered by large additional loading; they tend to remain small. The danger of taking a fall is bigger than the danger of being buried in snow masses. In addition, isolated small wet loose snow avalanches or glide snow avalanches can trigger naturally in all aspects at intermediate altitude and on sunny slopes at high altitude. Avalanche activity will increase slightly in line with the daytime danger cycle.
All in all the snowpack has settled well and is by and large stable. On shady high altitude slopes the snow is still powdery. A thin melt-freeze crust forms during the night in all aspects at intermediate altitude and in south-facing terrain at high altitude which softens again during the day due to daytime warming and solar radiation. At higher altitudes isolated weak layers are still found in small-scale snowdrift accumulations or at transitions to the old snowpack. However, snow profile analyses do not show tendencies to fracture propagation.
Avalanche situation will stay generally calm for the next few days.
