Forecast Snow Stability: Accumulations of moderately bonded windslab will be present, mostly on East through South to South-West aspects above 850 metres. Steep wind sheltered locations such as gully tops and corrie rims will be worst affected. Elsewhere, exposed terrain will remain very firm and icy. Isolated pockets of deeper snow will also be found at lower levels. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.
Forecast Weather Influences: Remaining cold at all levels with isolated snow showers at times. Winds will be fresh in strength, North-West to North-North-West throughout. Observed Weather Influences: Thaw conditions all levels overnight. Cooler after dawn, by midday it was -3 degrees at 900 metres. Moderate snowfall gradually falling down to all levels. There was a strong breeze from the North-North-East throughout. ObservedSnowStability: New moderately bonded accumulations are forming on East through South to South-West aspects above 900 meters. Greatest hazard is found around corrie rims and gully tops. Older snow is refreezing becoming firm and icy, with deeper drifts encountered in sheltered lee locations. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
