Forecast Snow Stability: Initially, further accumulations of unstable windslab will form in wind sheltered locations mainly on West to North aspects above 850 metres. As the freezing level rises above the summits, wet snow instabilities will develop especially in steeper locations and where windslab accumulations have formed on the old existing frozen snowpack, mainly on North-West through North to East aspects above 900 metres. Cornices on these aspects will be prone to collapse. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: This evening there will be a period of light snow above 400 metres with strengthening South-Easterly winds. During the early hours the freezing level rises above the summits to around 2000 metres with longer periods of light rain continuing at all altitudes. Southerly winds once again increase fresh to strong during the day. Observed Weather Influences: A dry but cloudy day with some brighter intervals. South-Westerly winds were light to moderate at lower elevations increasing moderate to fresh around the higher summits. The freezing level increased slightly through the day to around 700 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Localised accumulations of new unstable windslab are present in wind sheltered locations, mainly on North to East aspects above 900 metres. Greatest accumulations are around steep gully tops and coire rims. Fragile cornices are also forming on these aspects. Some existing windslab remains on other aspects, notably South-East and North-West. Soft snow in wind affected locations continues to be redistributed. The remaining old snowpack is frozen and stable. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
