Forecast Snow Stability: New snowfall will be light, leaving an insignificant dusting above 800 metres. Older patchy snow will remain well bonded, becoming firmer at higher levels later in the day. Greatest cover will be found in North to East facing corries. The avalanche hazard will be Low.
Snowpack Structure
Forecast Weather Influences: Mild and wet overnight. By dawn, the freezing level will drop to around 800 metres with a dusting of snow above this level. Gale force winds, initially Westerly but easing and veering to the West-North-West for most of the day. Observed Weather Influences: A mild day with the freezing level around the highest summits. Cloudy from 700 metres with light drizzle at times. There was a moderate breeze, generally South-West. ObservedSnowStability: The majority of the patchy snow cover is thawing but remains well bonded. Greatest amounts of snow are found on North to East facing corries above 900m. The avalanche hazard is Low.
