Snowpack Structure

In particular in the south and in the west 10 cm of snow, and up to 20 cm in some localities, will fall from the afternoon below approximately 2000 m. The wind will be moderate to strong adjacent to ridgelines. The wind slabs of the last few days are lying on unfavourable layers in particular on wind-protected shady slopes above approximately 2100 m. At intermediate altitudes there are 30 to 50 cm of snow, and even more in some localities. At high altitudes and in high Alpine regions snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind.
