Forecast Snow Stability: The existing snowpack will freeze and consolidate. Fresh areas of windslab will be deposited in locations sheltered from the strong winds. These areas will not be particularly extensive or deep. Most affected will be corrie rims and the tops of gullies on North through East to South-East aspects above 1000 metres. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: Snow showers overnight will ease through the day and turn to rain below 600 metres as the freezing level creeps up to around 800 metres by the end of the afternoon. Gale force South-Westerly winds will veer to the West. Observed Weather Influences: It was a dry morning with some light rain during the afternoon. Storm force winds were from the South. The freezing level rose to around 1200 metres. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack froze and further consolidated in colder conditions overnight. It was softening slightly through the day. Stability is good in all locations. The greatest deposits remain on higher North-East to South-East aspects. The avalanche hazard is Low.
