Slabs to two feet in depth lie upon surface hoar and hard snow surfaces at the upper elevations. In some areas these slabs could be triggered in steep wind loaded terrain today by backcountry skiers and riders, particularly on untracked slopes near ridge crests where the most significant has loading occured. At the mid elevations isolated pockets of slab to one foot could be triggered. Avalanches at low elevations are unlikely except in the form of small wet slides as temperatures increase this afternoon.

Snow is expected to start falling in the early morning hours and continue throughout the day. Summit temperatures are to climb from the low teens at the onset of the snow into the mid twenties during the afternoon. Winds during the day are to be Southwesterly at 15-25 mph.The avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW in the morning throughout Western Wyoming. The hazard is expected to increase slowly as new snow accumulates and forms new shallow surface slabs during the day.
