Avalanche Summary

Avalanche conditions are generally safe. You might still trigger a small avalanche on north and northeast-facing slopes where winds have drifted hard snow over softer snow near the ground, or you find areas of around 12 inches of loose snow at the surface. To avoid these areas, steer clear slopes steeper than around 40 degrees with deep loose surfaces or smooth, rounded features just below ridgelines or along gullies. Before committing to a slope, look downhill. Are there cliffs, rocks, or trees below you? Consider the consequences of a small slide knocking you down.
