You could trigger an avalanche in wind-drifted terrain features at upper elevations which could break into deeper slides. Southwest winds will combine with snowfall Monday to build thin but sensitive wind slabs on upper-elevation slopes facing west through northeast to southeast. Use caution if you encounter about eight inches or more of recently-drifted snow. Retreat to more wind-sheltered terrain or lower-elevation slopes if you experience cracking in the surface snow. Slopes less than about 30 degrees steepness offer safer options.
