Avalanche Summary
An Avalanche Watch is in effect for the southeast San Juan Mountains, including areas around Wolf Creek Pass and Cumbres and La Manga Passes. Dangerous avalanche conditions begin late in the day on Monday and last through at least Tuesday morning.
Snowfall begins by daybreak on Monday and increases throughout the day. Expect conditions to deteriorate and the avalanche danger to increase as the new snow begins to accumulate. You can trigger a large, dangerous avalanche from the bottom of a slope, from adjacent slopes, or a distance. Stick to slopes with a slope angle less than about thirty degrees with no steep slopes above you. Give all avalanche terrain a wide buffer.
